BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
Registration with the BCACC is voluntary, and demonstrates a counsellors commitment to client safety in three important ways. First, it serves as evidence of the counsellors qualifications as a professional. The BCACC requires that all counsellors provide proof of their academic qualifications and masters level training, and they also require evidence of supervised counselling hours. Second, the BCACC requires that all counsellors follow the association's standards of practice and ethical guidelines. They also provide a supportive community for counsellors when in need of supervision or ethical guidance. Finally, if a client is ever dissatisfied with the services of their counsellor, they may file a complaint with the BCACC head office, and the BCACC will facilitate a complaint procedure to ensure the issue is resolved.
